How TRUE are Muhammadan claims that the Quran has not been CORRUPTED?

I believe that the Quran verses that mentioned the Quran as a book should be dealt with much further.
Since it is an indisputable fact that the Quran was never in a book form until long after Muhammed's death, we should push this area further.
Can you please provide the verses related to the QUran mentioning of the Quran as a book?
I know of Quran verse 96:4 which makes explicit that Quran should be in written form. However, I do not know of other verses that talk about Quran as a book.
